Hi! We are Chris and John from Atlanta, Georgia. We respect your courage as you consider adoption for your child. Sara was born December 26, 2010! We are excited to welcome a second child into our family now through open adoption and are looking forward to building a relationship with you to the degree that you are comfortable. We would love to talk to you as you consider an adoption plan for your baby.
We have chosen open adoption because we value honesty and want our child to know his or her birth story. We know that you are considering open adoption out of love and we want you to know that you will always be special to us and our child. Thank you for reading our letter.
With the utmost respect,
~ John Barbee and Chris de Wolff
Chris, John and daughter, Sara
We met online six years ago and hit it off immediately. We began spending a lot of time together and we celebrated our love with a commitment ceremony in 2007. As best friends, we share everything. We have so much in common and have such a good time together. Each day is new and exciting whether we're traveling to a new country or just enjoying some quiet time at home. While we enjoy being with one another, we also enjoy spending time with our family and friends.

I knew when I met John that I had met someone special.
I love being around him because he is so positive and supportive.
He is spontaneous and is great at making people laugh.
People are drawn to him and his sense of humor.
John is great with our two nieces, whether he is playing with them
at the pool or spending quiet time reading a book together.
John is a devoted dad to our little girl.
He is an awesome parent!

From our first date, I felt comfortable with Chris. He is very caring, warm, and loves to have a good time. Our relationship grows stronger each year we are together. He has a deep loving capacity, knows how to have a great time and is such a great dad to Sara! He is both responsible and fun-loving and always has a good balance of work and play.
The fun and warmth we feel in and around our home
is the perfect place to raise our children.
We live on a quiet and friendly street in the
family-oriented town of Decatur, Georgia.
It has a small-town feel, while providing award-winning schools
and a diverse population. The kids in our community
grow up respecting all walks of life and are exposed to the arts.
Decatur is a fun place to live, filled with year-round activities,
such as the Barbecue & Blues and Earth Day festivals.
Our neighborhood has a large park, playground,
and pool where we can hear children splashing around
and playing every afternoon. We look forward to
hearing our children laughing as they play tag
with their friends and each other and eat hot dogs at the neighborhood 4th of July party.

John and Chris with Friends
We have great relationships with our families
and they are excited about our growing family!
Since we both have family nearby, we are looking forward to
taking them with us on trips with our children to see the
beluga whales at the Georgia Aquarium or to share
Thanksgiving dinner. We also look forward to family trips to
Grandpa G's beach house in Florida where he can't wait to teach his
grandchildren how to build sand castles.
Grandma Nina lives on a farm in the country and is excited to teach our children
about horses. Her farm is a great place to learn all about animals!
Cousins Lexi and Taylor can't wait to
play kickball with their cousins
when they come over for Sunday afternoon barbeques.
We are lucky to have great neighbors
who are also our friends. We share an organic garden between
our homes so there will be many opportunities for our children
to learn about growing food such as squash or tomatoes.
Uncle Chris gets ready to help our friends Katie and Graham down the slide
Chris is a corporate real estate manager,
and John owns a home-based real estate company.
John has a flexible schedule and is looking forward to
teaching both children how to ride a bike and attending PTA meetings.
Chris enjoys playing water polo and likes all types of sports and music.
He can't wait to take our children to their first music concert.
John stays active and enjoys jogging around the neighborhood.
We both like to ski and can't wait to hear our children's laughter
as we ski down a bunny slope while visiting Colorado.
We also like eating healthy foods and we are excited to cook that first batch of organic baby food!
We love Camping and we can't wait to hop in the car with our
children and head up to the north Georgia mountains
for a family trip. We are world travelers but also think there is
a lot to see in the USA. We've been to many National Parks
and look forward to going back again with our children as parents.
